How the work permit works
The usual route for skilled workers from India:

Employer applies to the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment for your employment permit.

Once the permit is granted, you apply for an Irish employment (D) visa.

After arrival you register with immigration and receive your Irish Residence Permit (IRP) card.
