How the work permit works

The usual route for skilled workers from India:

  1. 1

    Employer offers a full-time job with pay and conditions at Norwegian standard levels.

  2. 2

    You apply online to the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) for a skilled-worker residence permit, then hand in documents at the visa centre.

  3. 3

    After arrival you register with the police and the tax office to receive your ID number.
