About the job
Prepare steel surfaces by abrasive blasting and apply protective coatings on ships, tanks and steel structures.
What you'll do
- Blast steel surfaces to the required cleanliness (for example Sa 2½)
- Set up blasting equipment, hoses and dust protection
- Apply primer and paint coats by spray or roller
- Check the surface profile and paint thickness
- Clean up and look after equipment and protective gear
What you need
- At least 1 year of abrasive blasting experience
- Experience with spray painting is an advantage
- Comfortable wearing a blasting helmet and full protective equipment
- Can work at height on scaffolding or lifts
- Able to pass a practical trade test
- Passport valid for at least 2 years
- Basic English for safety instructions
