About the job
Grind, bevel and finish welds and steel surfaces in workshops and shipyards, supporting welders and fabricators.
What you'll do
- Grind and finish welds to a smooth, clean surface
- Bevel plates and pipes ready for welding
- Remove spatter, rust and old coatings
- Change discs and look after angle and die grinders
- Work to drawings and quality instructions
What you need
- At least 1 year of grinding or fabrication experience
- Safe use of angle grinders and die grinders
- Comfortable wearing full protective equipment
- Experience with stainless steel finishing is an advantage
- Able to pass a practical trade test
- Passport valid for at least 2 years
- Basic English for safety instructions
