About the job

Grind, bevel and finish welds and steel surfaces in workshops and shipyards, supporting welders and fabricators.

What you'll do

• Grind and finish welds to a smooth, clean surface
• Bevel plates and pipes ready for welding
• Remove spatter, rust and old coatings
• Change discs and look after angle and die grinders
• Work to drawings and quality instructions

What you need

• At least 1 year of grinding or fabrication experience
• Safe use of angle grinders and die grinders
• Comfortable wearing full protective equipment
• Experience with stainless steel finishing is an advantage
• Able to pass a practical trade test
• Passport valid for at least 2 years
• Basic English for safety instructions
